The Streets of NYC

New York City is a special city.

It’s brimming with excitement, it’s hard, expensive, but filled with energy, creativity, and new ideas. I got to experience all this—and more—in my trip to New York this fall.

Highlights:

  • Literal 4:00 AM hair & makeup call time with ZERO complaints from anyone

  • Sunrise on the Brooklyn Bridge where it felt like we were the only ones up in New York

  • Super nice construction guy outside Chanel at 10am who hyped me and my models up & kept us safe from construction materials overhead

  • Dinner with Emerie at Ruby’s, a restaurant recommendation from one of our clients, Shreya

  • Finding the perfect perfume fragrance at Fueguia 1833 & taking it home

  • Meeting Lottie, another client’s puppy, and getting to spend all day shooting with them and her mom

  • Walking through Valentino & Alexander McQueen flagship stores

  • Setting up my lighting in Central Park and everyone being like “oh, cool” and just leaving us to do our thing

  • Wandering into Little Italy and unknowingly ordering the best pasta of my life

Models: Lauren, Brynn, Shreya, Zoey, Stephanie, Hansika

HMUA: Emerie Jones

Location(s): Brooklyn Bridge, DUMBO, Central Park, FlatIron Building, SOHO

Special thanks to Blair for her blog that assisted in location scouting and selections

A VERY special moment was when my client told me she wanted to change into a traditional Indian look. I have such a love for Indian culture and the beauty of their traditional clothing (I mean….come on! She looks like a princess!) One of my favorite details was the Jhumka earrings. I just LOVE this kind of earring design, and I was over the moon to shoot them. Apparently we made her mom cry with these photos, so I think we did our job well.

Thanks for reading!

XOXO
